Garden & Arboretum
Magnolia Sieboldii sinensis

Wisteria venusta on edge of lawn
The extensive garden, containing a great many rare and unusual trees and shrubs, including acers, magnolias, tulip trees, oaks, walnuts, daphnes, hellebores, hostas, ferns, cyclamen and trilliums to name but a few, offers interest throughout the year. There are over 125 different rose varieties, including big tree ramblers. Mixed borders fringe sweeping lawns leading to a small potager. In front of the house there is a miniature box garden and the upper magnolia garden leads to the 2 acre arboretum and 3 acre wild flower meadow, containing some 45 native limestone flower species.
The garden has a star in the 2007 Good Gardens Guide and is also open for the National Gardens Scheme on Sundays 13th April, 11th May and 8th June 2008 from 2pm to 6pm.
