Dating from the mid 18th century, the house is swathed in roses, akebia and solanum, surrounded by its idyllic garden. For the energetic there is a hard tennis court and there are excellent opportunities for walking locally. The charming bedrooms are light, airy and very comfortable, with enticing views over various parts of the garden.

English breakfast, with fresh local free-range eggs and including fresh fruit salad and home–made bread, jams and marmalade is normally taken in the conservatory in summer, surrounded by oleanders and plumbago and in the evening guests can relax in the drawing room in front of a roaring log fire when the evenings are cold. Dinner has to be pre-ordered and Sue, who is Cordon Bleu trained also offers tuition for small groups or on a one to one basis.
